Cracked windshield
The 78-930 front windshield cracked yesterday, one of those dump trucks..., does it need to be replaced by a specialty shop (dealer = big bucks) because of linner/gasket problems? or any decent glass shop can do the job? Is there something special to pay attention to while replacing it?

If you spend much time in this forum, you must surely know by now that you will be advised to try this job yourself.....as long as you don't mess up the metal trim insert in the removal or reinstallation process, you really can't do any permanent/significant harm to anything else. Glass should run about $225, new gasket about $50...have some silicone lubricant, a piece of rope around the gasket, a helper or two and a morning or afternoon, and you're good to go. Do a search herein for the finer points on doing the job. IF you don't succeed, then call in the professionals.

Worst case, call Bill Mitchell over at Eurasian Auto and ask him who he recommends.
