Engine out, project continues / Header Mods

I purchased Bursch Headers and will be installing them soon on my car...what modifications have any of you done to ensure the engine cools properly?

I tried a search, but didn't really find much...thanks

I have run with disconnected heat before. I just capped the outlets coming from the engine fan with thick aluminum foil tape and some tiewraps. Basically, that's what you'll have to do. Needless to say, there are more elegant and permanent ways.

Why not buy old metal "outlets" and modify them by cutting them and welding them shut? I am curious to see what others do, that have race engines.

I got rid of my heat also... I used a glass blockoff plate, did the tin modification, 11 blade fan, and I'm working on an external oil cooler.

would connecting the hoses directly from the outlets to the flapper boxes work?

I would think that the engine would cool better with the heat block off plates. Running the hoses directly to the flapper boxes will do nothing but push air to the front. It will not be heated air. Delete the heat and block them off.

What Sean said. Unless you want to blow cold air into the interior that otherwise would have flown over your engine! ;)
