Do a search on Ebay motors.

"Porsche radio tool"

You need to locate or buy one of those tools.

You don't need a special tool to remove the Porsche cd-2 radio.
Remove the plastic trim around the radio, it should come off easily.
Once the trim is remove you will see how the radio is held in the steel chassis. You will need to move the two pins to the center position and then pull the radio out.

It was pretty easy for me when I removed the radio. I was right about no special tool required to pull the radio, and about the two pins.

Hope you have the radio code because once you disconnect the radio, you will need the code in order for it to work again, but you already knew that!

If you are going to install a new radio in place of the cd-2 and plan on cutting the old harness, I would like to buy the old harness from you. Some low life rip the radio out of my car and cut the harness. I have installed a new radio, but had to make a temporary connection in order to get the radio to work again

i dont know if i will replace this unit with a new one yet. if i do, i'll use a harness adapter in fitting the new unit. so i wont be cutting the original connector off.
