Hmm.. inovative, but there is alot of heat floating around the brakes. I'd be afraid it would turn the zip tie into a gooey mess

It's just a temporary repair until I get the parts. I'm trying to not drive the car so much until then. Can you believe that the spring takes so long to get. I guess no one Ever loses that spring when doing the parking brake shoes. I'm going down to some parts houses to see if they can fit me with a spring from another source. The hard part for me now is not driving the car so much. Just did a test pipe, airbox mod, Ghl SS muffler and Steve Wong chip, it's running too good! : ) Just can't use a parking brake!!!!

Last summer I was wondering what was making the metal-on-metal scraping sound from my rear wheel. It turned out that the very spring you are talking about had broken in two, and the broken piece had fallen down and become wedged in the bottom spring, scraping against the rotor.

And yes, it took two weeks to get the part.

Porsche Crest

There are several Mercedes and six-cylinder BMWs models that use the same Ate design parking brake assemblies ... if you get lucky at a boneyard ... you might find some.

huh - and I thought the only use for golf tees was to block off brake line hoses...

Porsche Crest golf tee / porsche / tiger woods

Tiger Woods drives his Porsche into a PetroL Station in Cork during his tour of Ireland. The attendant at the pump greets him in a typical Irish manner, unaware as to who the golf pro is, "Top o the morning to you young fella!" As Tiger leans over to get out of the car two tees fall out of his top pocket onto the ground. "What are dey son?" asks the attendant. "They're called tees" replies Tiger Woods. "And what would dey be for then?" enquires the Irish man. "They're for resting my balls on while I'm driving" says Tiger Woods. "Jaysus", says the Irish man, "Dem boys at Porsche just tink of everyting!"
