And that was just a normally aspirated C4. Imagine what a GT2 or GT3 would've done.

Sweet. This is going to my buddy whose R-1 I always borrow! He won't take the "heterosexual" comment so well, but tfb.

I wonder how a Ducati would do? If nothing else, a heterosexual can ride one.

There's been a thread on this vid before. I still think the bike is going to be faster on most tracks. That R1 is nothing like the new batch of R1's and its competitors, GSX-R1000, ZX-10, and CBR-1000RR. The bikes are now much lighter, much more powerful (150+ at the wheel), have better brakes, better aero, and are generally more track oriented. I doubt this would happen again w/ a new 1000cc repliracer and a new C4.

EDIT: R1 versus C4

The motorcycle rider raced in a superbike series, which are V-twins, verses the R1 he's on which is an inline 4. The riding characteristics on the track are worlds different. Also, I'd like to know how much, if any, practice time he had with the bike, and if he was allowed any suspension tuning such as rebound/compression tinkering. Knowing your bike well makes a huge, huge difference for turning fast laps. If the track was bumpy, that too could have an adverse effect, b/c the bikes suspension is not effective at high lean angles, so bumps mean you have to slow *way* down.

I think there are too many variables to make a judgement on this video alone, does anyone have some actual lap times? I can dig some up for completely stock bikes.

I have a lap time for 1:55:119 for a stock Kawasaki ZX-10R at Spain's Circuit de Catalunya, and a 1:48 for the same bike and its competitors for Daytona. Anyone have some 911 lap times to compare?

Lots of rationalizing going on here. But the simple fact remains that the lap record for highly prepped Porsches is a few seconds faster than it is for highly prepped GP bikes at most, if not all tracks.

Bikes just lose too much time transitioning from one corner to the next.

Willow Springs, for example, is perfect for a bike. But the record there is about 6 seconds slower than what a GT3 Cup car can run there.

I still would like to see what the difference would have been had the car been a GT-3. This was a stock C4. How about a Supercar against a superbike, say a Ferrari Enzo against the best street stock bike out there.

As an avid bike rider, and reader of many such comparo's, a bike just cannot compete with four wheel traction. The extent of the outcome depends largely upon which bike you run against which car...

There was lot of testing btw bikes and cars, and everytime bike won. Im talking here production bikes and cars. EVO magazine and SuperBike had one where only Radical came close to bike and even that car was tube frame with suzuki hayabusa engine in it. There were lamborgini, m3, ferari, porsche.....and suzuki gsx1000
Didnt see this movie, but cars have braking advantage and maybe on some corner, corner speed. We did some comparo and on track the diff in time btw me and some guy in 996 turbo was bout 6 seconds all stock.
On street there was some guy with maserati ghibli who provoce me and he didnt stand a chance. Only in braking he was faster, but on corners and acell. it was no contest.
