Farnbsbacher Clean Car at Daytona

Did anyone else notice how CLEAN the Farnsbacher (copper) 911 was during and after the race?

Anyone know how they pulled that off? Imron paint? Wax?

Maybe it was in the pits most of the race.

Zeke,

Cute, Zeke.

But that car finished higher on the board than most of the other 911s. It is/was a The Racer's Group car, and I don't remember too many details, but it was circulating all throughout the TV coverage, and it was always clean.

Does anyone know for sure? Guessing is cute, but I really would like to know, since they might have a "secret" of keeping dirt, grime, oil, off of their finish. iF they do have a scret, can you imagine what it wold do for our street cars?

You gotta keep a clean car if your going to be first in GT.
I think they stayed out of the dirt, out of trouble, kept the car clean and came home first.

To true about being in front.
I think Craig 911 posted some really nice after race photos of that car and it looked pretty dirty w/ rubber boogers and dirt.(a nice kind of well earned dirty)
I bet they rub it down with quick detailer for the pre-race photo ops and then go.

Hi Erik,

The original question of this thread was: how did they keep that car so clean?

Can you ask your friend John. This will remove all guessing, and save bandwidth.

Keeping racecar clean

Talked with John Weisberg, He said the drivers just did'nt hit anything during the race, so it was easy, He also said they used MAJIC PIXI DUST which he will sell for 100 a gram. He is a wise ass. But seriously, he will check what wax or cleaner the team is using, but he did say they were wiping the car down during some pitstops and making sure the air ducts were clear of debris.

Thanks Erik,

Good to know that periodic maitenance can do wonders.

I've always said that if you treat your 911 like you do your own body, it will last as long as your own body. Saturday washings will keep the 911 clean and free of accummlated dirt, just like a daily shower of your body keeps it free of accumulated dirt.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness, I guess. ;-) ;-)

The car really wasn't clean at all - & I spent quite some time with the team. The cars look much cleaner in pictures and on TV.
Had one dent on the right front - and they were giving Wolf static about that - they were pretty proud of how well they didn't hit ***** during the race - and rightfully so.

That said, the paint held up much better than most teams.
It appeared to have a clear coat.

But man, there was a LOT of rubber and slime all over the car.
The back end looks brand new.

See this pic -

Considering the abuse, it looks pretty damn good!

It wasn't nearly as sandblasted as the other cars -
