Porsche Insurance New York Only...
Forgive me..but I didn't know where to put this post. I am a Porsche owner and also insurer. Sorry to be a salesman I have been doing business for several years with a couple of local Porsche dealerships. I have an absoluely unbeatable program for Porsche automobiles. Coverage is provided by one of the largest insurer's in the State. For those of you with newer cars or those that do too much mileage for collectible insurance...here are the qualifications...
Must not drive like Bill Rudtner in the recently posted video New York only! Adult driven (over 21 years old) Good credit Must have at least one other vehicle in household (a normal one!) relatively clean driving record at least one year of insurance history (one year of auto insurance) Turbo's, GT2-3's, etc... welcome If you meet the above...the rates cannot be beat! I promise you that! Currently insure 100's of porsche's and thousands of your neighbors. I also can handle other exotics such as Ferrari, Maserati and even Lamborghini in the same program....FINALLY A COMPANY THAT WANTS YOUR PORSCHE!!! If you are paying less...I will give you my 911 (hot wheels car, of course). Last edited by bradr; 02-21-2005 at 02:53 PM.. |

Can you provide "agreed value" insurance?
Thanks.

The policies are not agreed value. They are actual value at time of loss. Agreed value policies are usually reserved for collectibles. Some companies do offer agreed value for newer cars...a handful. They are usually VERY expensive (like Chubb). All other companies (mine included) offer "street value" or "actual book value" at time of claim. I hope this helps explain it. If you are willing to pay the severe premium for Agreed value, then your choices are limited. This coverage is VERY suitable for special vehciles...like an RS and other vintage vehicles...where collectible coverage through a company like Hagerty would be best. I do write through Hagerty, however, this program I quote is for people driving over 2500 miles annually (the limitation on most collectible policies).

With your coverage, can I drive my 911 to work on sunny days in the summer (parked outside my office window in a rural area parking lot)? I would like to insure only the 911 (not the other cars) through you.
Here's the information for a quote: liability limit: $100,000 at least two vehicles (yr make, model): 1992 Toyota Corolla Wagon 1995 Mitsubushi Montero 1998 Subaru Forester 1977 Porsche 911S zip code: 12859 accident. violation history (general info): no accidents/tickets in over three years Thanks

Well Brad, as far as I can tell, Bill wasn't talking on a cell phone or playing the Shrek DVD for some screaming kids in the back seat of his 930. . .
But seriously, what are your underwriting criteria WRT to insurance of a Porsche if it's the only vehicle in the household. The issue I've had with the "Classic" insurers like Haggerty, Leland West and others is that they require you to own a late model vehicle for every member of your household, to ensure that you aren't driving your Porsche to work. I then explain to them that my 911 is garaged an hour from the city and I ride the subway to work, and that it would be altogether counterintuitive for me make a two hour round trip to retreive my car so I could avoid a $2 subway fare, but "rules are rules." Will you insure a 911 if it's the ONLY car in the household?

they will. Just not in the program that I am speaking of. The rates would be considerably higher without having at least one other car in the household. It does not matter if you have 2 people and 9 cars or 9 cars and 2 people. Just not only one "high performance" vehicle with no other primary vehicle. The collectible companies are not giving you a $200.00 policy by taking much risk. They want cars that sit mostly in garages. Unfortunately, people in your situation, pay the price for the fraudsters. For every person in your situation, there are 20 that are misleading the insurance companies to believe that they have your situation. PM me your contact# or Pm me for mine and illl run up some numbers and see if I can get an exception due you NYC living (more understandable that you would only have one vehicle).

are you aware of anyone insuring vehicles for DE's? I have heard, but cannot yet find, an insurer that will sell a policy for track use only (will not cover damage on street normally covered by normal insurance) From what I understand there is a policy for DE carrying a $2000 deductible, for say, 30 track days in one policy year.

I might. I have heard that Parish Heacock Insurance...a classic car insurance has a track/de policy and coverage. I have referred people to them in the past for this type of coverage, however, I have not in several years.
http://www.parishheacock.com/content/ I know that they had this type of policy as Parish insurance. I am not sure it is still offered since theie merger with "heacock". Give them a try.... All I ask is that you let me know if they still do it. Good Luck!

Got a response from Parish heacock today and they do NOT do DE coverage. I got another lead and if it pans out I'll notify this board.

Tony, Parrish Heacock can issue you an STP or Storage, Transit and Paddock policy. There are firms that do race insurance. . . but remember the fundamental axiom of insurance: "There are no bad risks: there are only bad premiums." E.g. Get your wallet ready.
