OG Racing rollbar
Anyone used one? How was the fit & finish? Any thoughts or advice?
Seems like it’s a good design since the mounting plates are welded to the boxed sections of the unibody like Chuck Moreland's Elephant Cage. If it’s a good bar, the price is going to be tough to beat at ~$600. The full OG cage looks like it has the plates to tie into the B Pillar, but I didn’t see these on the roll bar. Does anyone know if the OG Racing rollbar ties into the B pillars like the cage does? TIA |

I have an OG roll cage in my SC. The fit and finish seem to be fine although I have no other experience with other cages. As you indicated, he front bars and the main hoop ties into the sills. The main hoop has tabs welded into the structure that allow the B pillar to tie into the hoop via the shoulder harness bolts. I could never think of a way to accurately match the shoulder harness mount with a right size hole in the tab, so I just welded a piece of steel from the tab to the pillar to tie the assembly together.

Sherman, I have a full OG cage in my ST. It was very easy to install. The rear roll bar is just the back half of the cage in design.
The tabs on the B-pillar fit close but there was no way I was going to bolt or weld it in place there. Not close enough. The installation instructions do not mention anything about mounting it to the B-pillars. I think these plates are just meant to keep the pillar from collapsing inside on itself and the occupants. yes, it would be safer if it was welded in place. I really like the way the OG cage mounts on the sills. Much better than the Autopower or others that bolt to the floor. Those are not as safe IMO. I almost wish they would offer a rear bar with door bar extentions like Chuck build. I don't think it would be too hard to add them once the main hoop was in place.
