AN-6 fuel line

Trying to decide between nylon and steel braid. Personal preference or one is "better"?

Also can't decide between black or blue/red fittings, but I know that makes no difference :-)

I think it comes down to your goal, and how much line you're going to run. The stainless line is pretty heavy.

I used braided stainless but wish I'd gone with the newer, lighter push on fittings instead.

If you do the steel, prepare to sacrifice a fitting or some line in the name of training in case you've never cut or used the braided stuff before. I did the blue/red - although the black/gold looks nice too. Also, try to prevent the braided stuff from chafing anything as it will abrade the shroud or most other surfaces over time. I did mine a couple of years ago and the joints/fittings are holding up very well.

for braided steel lines

What a pain to cut and get into the fittings. I finally discovered if you wrap first with electrical tape VERY TIGHTLY, it reduces the outside diameter slightly and you can actually fit the braided line into the fitting without if coming apart or sticking you like a porcupine. I used a Dremel to cut the stuff. My two cents.

Make sure you use line suitable for fuel.

Some of the cheaper stuff will leech fumes through the inner liner.

I'm using aeroquip startlite in my car. Its rated for fuel, but I haven't run the lines yet.

I used Teflon with stainless braid outside. you can also get the Teflon stainless with a teflon/plastic coating which should help with fraying. If you used AN fitting they need to be for Teflon. I ran home run lines from tank to engine compartment. Electrical tape or heat shrink will help keep the stainless braid from fraying. I then switched to rubber with stainless braid.

Teflon/stainless here as well, both, durable and lightweight
