What is this CIS part for? (+ 1 other CIS ?)

I am cleaning up the CIS before I put it back in. This part seems to be coming apart. The plastic part the clamp is around is pulling out from the plastic "Y" thing. The "Y" thing has a VW part number. I can't figure out from the catalog which part is which because it doesn't show a Y.

Bottom line is, what is it, how do I fix it, or should it be loose like that (I doubt it).

Also, for the bonus round ;) When I took off the rubber sleeves going to the intake pipes I looked inside the airbox. In the center of the box hole there is a small hole right in the center. What is the purpose of that?

Thanks!

a vacuum amplifier for the power brakes. a loose fitting is an intake air leak. probably a small bit of JB weld would secure it, as that type of plastic isn't likely to be melted and bonded by most common glues. the tube in the airbox port directs fuel from the cold start valve directly down each port. less chance of an intake backfire that could blow the airbox. less, but they still blow.

Once again, thank you John.
