Strange hose on 77 911 C3
I have this hose that runs to the back of the car, up along the driver’s side to a canister in the front bumper. I Think this canister is somehow related to the gas tank. Any idea whether it need to run all the way to the back of the car? It doesn’t attach to anything in the rear, it just hangs there. Is it there to have gas fumes pass the cabin? I would like to get rid of it completely but not sure if I can.
Any idea how to cut those air conditioner hoses? Thanks, David |

I don't know what the hose is that runs from the front to the back, but what you have described I believe is part of the evaproative system. That tank should also connect to the top of your fuel tank and allows for evaporated fuel to condense there and then return to the tank. Not sure if you can jus 86 it or not. I've had fuel moving back and forth between mine, so it's still there.
As for cutting the AC lines... Are you talking about a nice, pretty cut? If not, a hacksaw or sawzall will do the trick. Rotary cutoff tool, grinder, plasma cutter, oxy-ace, repeated bending, cold chisel... Good luck!

I wonder if I can at least shorten it to say the front wheel well. I have never noticed any liquid coming out of it. I would be surprise if gas fumes were coming out either. It ran pretty close to the engine.
Thanks. |

Sounds like the charcoal canister, which does pretty much as stated. I removed mine.
