Good example of 6's & 7's to 7's & 9's Fuchs pic's

These were my 6's and 7's refinished in silver, and then the stock finish 7's and 9's. You can see pretty well how the 7's fill the front fenders better than the 6's.
The rears are a little harder to see in the first pic but there was lot's of room between the fender and the tire compaired to now. It's at the same ride height.

I'm in the middle of doing exactly the same thing on my car. Note that the 6's have a 36mm offset compared with 23.3mm for the 7's. That accounts for half of the difference in the front clearance.

Bob, what size tires do you have there?

Yes...what tires are you running on the 9s?

I am running 245/45/16 Yokohama ES100s on the 9 Fuchs...and they look like tiny little innertubes, very small. This leaves too much open space in the rear wheel well.

Thanks for the compliments. 205/55 fronts and 245/45 rear 16's Bridgestone S03's. It has 1.5 deg of neg camber rear and 1.3 front.

I took it out today on a local pass road and it seemed to handle better even though I hadn't done anything to it until I remember I put in sport seats.

Beautiful car, inside and out! Here's a slightly off topic question for you: do you have a picture of your shift boot as it abuts the console? I want to see how it should look compared to the wonky way mine looks.

That's probably the best pic of the console I have.

Wow, looks great.

I have 6s up front and want to change up to 7s this weekend but I have a dumb question to ask first.

Do 7s weigh more then 6s and is it enough to matter at all? Also, with more rubber up front does the steering feel heavier?

The 7s up front look way better to me, are there any performance downsides or is more rubber on the road always better.

Can you show me a pic of one of your rear 9s?

Mine is stock height...but the 245/45s just look puny in there...maybe its the Yokos... maybe I need to get Bridgestones.

BTW... Sport Seats rock.

Your car looks great! How many inches on the drop (front & rear)? Any clearance problems?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Are you going to run 225s in the front, Dave? If so, you will need to roll at least the driver's side front fender (the horror!) Even with 205s you may rub.

They must weigh a bit more but worth it. As for the steering I never noticed much change except the added traction.

The tires are the same size 205's that were on the 6's. The wider wheel give you a stiffer side wall because it has less arch/roll to it and flattens out the tread surface so you probably do gain a bit more rubber on the road.

The biggest gain is the rear 245 rubber on the 9's , So with the 7's up front it just gives you better traction all around.
