victory motorcars....
I have to give Kudo's that there are actually honest car dealers ot there. I bought my old/new sc from Robert Neal (the owner of Victory Motorcars. If you don;t know them, they specialize in only 911's. My sc was represented as cherry. It came in nicer than promised cosmetic and mechanical condition. The inside is immaculate and the seats recovered in oem leather sport seats. The paint gleems and is in perfect shape. I must say that he represented the car well.
However, when I brought it to Bill in Freeport ny...he informed me that the represented chain tensioner update and pop off valve were misrepresented (he told me that they had been done). I must say that I was upset that I was going to have to spend $1000 to do these updates as well as the expected tune up. I complained to Robert Neal...who was shocked. Apparantly, the car was represente to him that way. All I can guess is that he did not check on the representations of the seller to him. I would normally fault this, however, he promptly offered to send me a check for $1000 to make good on his representation. Furthermore, the check was overnighted and is now in my hands to pay Bill for the updates. I am not affiliated in any way with his company and just thought the ever so rare good experience should be told. People are quick to complain when things go wrong and quiet when they go right. Perhaps this story will help someone else find a 911 with little aggravation...

I have to say I'm having the complete opposite experience in dealing with Victory MotorCars. I just bought an 86 Turbo from Robert Neal. What a disaster!!!!
First, after assuring me that the car was California smog compliant the car arrived with ABSOLUTELY NO smog equipment on the car! His only make good was to send me an air box, an air pump and a muffler. It's going to cost me around 5K, initial estimate, to get smog put back on the car and fix all the oil leaks. (the engine has to come out to do this) He claimed the car had only 60K miles and when it arrived the speedo doesn't even work. Who knows how many miles were on the car. He knew the speedo wasn't working because on the transfer the mileage was listed as exempt. I should have known I was in trouble when we had to jump start the car to get it off the hauler. The battery was completely shot. The tires on the car had plenty of tread but were 8 years old! Unsafe at any speed! This other guy might have got a good deal but be afraid,,,,be very afraid of Robert Neal and Victory Motorcars

Friend of mine bought an 83 SC last may from Victory which represented the car as having the airbox and chain tensioner upgrades done. They weren't. Permatune failed on first day. Also car had 3 broken head studs. Victory offered $ 900 towards repairs and was hyper sensitive about keeping his ebay feedback positive. Caveat Emptor.
