Windshield Spray Pump??

Is this the windshield washer pump? and if so how does this work. It looks pretty corroded. Can someone tell me how to get this thing working? I know this is a dumb question. Where do the lines go. Is this for the headlight washer also. It has 2 wires connecting to it, is it safe to disconnect. What is the relay above this and what is it for. I have very little automotive technical knowledge so all help is welcome and appreciated.

The greenish canister is the motor of the washer pump. It looks like yours really needs a cleaning or replacement. It's a pretty basic pump, when you hit the washer switch the electric motor spins a gear which causes water to be sucked in one tube that goes into washer tank located in the drivers side fender. The water goes out the other tube towards the washer nozzles. We need more info on what is happening to help out. When you hit the switch for the washer do you hear the electric motor working?

Yes thats the wiper washer pump. its actually pretty easy to take out, I however had to take out the AC condensor fan to make it easier to get to the pump. it has a couple of screws that hold the unit together and a few gears inside to force the fluid through the hose. all I had to do was remove the unit....take it apart clean it (mine had gummed up from lack of use) re install and now works perfectly.

If you have the Bently's manual it shows the procedure and where the screws are located. it was seriously only a :30 min job when all was said and done.

Yes, that's the windshield washer pump.

Here is where the lines go .

The relay is the headlamp washers relay (92861811100).

For a Porsche part, they are surprisingly affordable - search in the online parts catalog - box at top of forum screen.
