torsion bar covers
I've seen a couple of Excellence article references to saving weight by modifying the torsion bar covers... not much info is given - I assume this relates to the rear ones.
One article mentioned this on Grant G's Carbon Copy car and another was on the 930 that was converted to a blue early car look (circa 1974) and had a 993 RS engine installed. Neither article gave details... Has anybody done this? If so, what did you do? And how much wt. did you save?

I can't imagine any meaningful weight reduction if we're talking the rear spring plate torsion bar covers...the things that capture the four bolts and "attach" the TB to the body.....
Same for the clamshell clamps for the fronts.... ???? Wil

I also heard about them but have not really seen anything yet. Sure there is some potential like drillig holes, shortening, acid dipping, or even aluminum or carbon fiber.
