Well I just had Tom Amon of Mobile Works West adjust my clutch. Boy what a great guy and a great service. He took it out for a test drive (that's the first time I've ever been in the passenger seat) and he knew exactly what needed to be done. Got back to the house and out comes all his tools. Within 5 minutes the car was on jack stands and he was working his majic. He also inspected my baby for oil leaks and found that my throttle linkage was out of adjustment so I was only getting about 80% throttle. I jokingly exclaimed, "So the car goes faster?"

What a great and valuable service. I would definately recommend him.

The best upgrade so far...

Yes, Tom is probably the best upgrade I have done to my car!

So far, I had been bringing my car to the shop where I bought it...and anytime I got it back I had the same question in my mind: is she really running better? I can't really feel it...

Through this board, I heard about Tom...and boy, am I glad!
He came out first to change my fuel pump which died on me on a sunday afternoon with my 22Months son in the back seat...he did a quick check/look through, and gave me a couple of recommendation according to my specs: this is my daily driver, I need a reliable car.
Then, following up, I had him over a couple of weeks ago for a major service + short shift kit + MSD (which he advised me to go for)...

I NEVER HAD THE CAR RUNNING SO WELL SINCE I OWN IT!

My wife was always scared to drive it (RPM management + 901)...she tried it the very night we got it tuned... she had a blast!

Upgrading the wrench was quite worthy.

TOM IS DA' MAN!

Tom just did a full service on the RSA. It's like a new car. Very pleased.

Don't know Tom, but Jimmy Deering has been to my house a couple of times. I'm very satisfied with him. He also gives followup calls, and he doesn't d**k around. He shows up and goes right to work.

The only reason he wasn't at my house for the motor drop was because this was something I needed to do so I could better understand my car. And even so, he was still posting on this website and calling to offer helpful advice.

Thanx Jimmy

Just had Tom replace the shocks on my '85. Great guy - looking forward to having him do more work on the car as necessary.

Oh, Tom is great! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tom to anybody on this board. He worked on several things in my car, and I'm very happy with the results.

Fyi, I worked with Tom at T & D peformance for 7.5 years. He is a good guy to with and work beside " Mobile Works" and T & D". Hes the brain of Porsche opperation. From sizes, to fit, conversions to how can i say this...Whatever you ask, he knows.... It was his idea to throw me on the line, and make me what he once was, an apprentice.. From there my knowledge grew, and so did the porsche passion..( Even at the same time i was on the line, i still was Cleaning, prep and set his engines up for rebuilds )

Thanks for all the positive comments..... Hey Brian, if you need help, just let me know....LOL..( brian does want to do this on his own, whata guy)

Simply put, Jimmy Deering did a great job working on my car! I just purchased Baird3 (s) 80 SC....what a beautiful car. Jimmy did the PPI and the necessary work / repairs found in the inspection!

I flew out last Wednesday from WI to CA. Jimmy was there to pick me up at the airport...what a nice guy! He then drove me directly to the owners house for me to take delivery of the car. Very professional, honest and trustworthy....would do a long distance purchase with Mobile Works and Jimmy Deering as my inspector again in a heartbeat!

I put 2800 miles on the car from Sacremento to Wisconsin with only a flat in the desert (another story) and a one fluke no-start condition in Kansas??? Nothing that a push start couldn't take care of ! Couldn't duplicate?

How many 25 year old cars would you drive across the county?? I love this car!

Sincerely,
Ed Crum aka a NEW Porche fanatic!
