Question Are heat exchangers from a 86-89 Turbo the same as 84-89 3.2?

Are the heat exchangers from a 1986-89 Turbo the same as the ones from a 1984-89 normally aspirated 3.2?

I gues what I'm asking is are they interchangeable.

Steve,
I wouldn't think so since the exhaust plumbing for the turbocharger is routed differantly. The right heat exchanger(passenger side), has the exhaust exiting forward and uses a J-pipe to hook to a common flange off the left heat exchanger.

Heat exchangers are different on 930 and 3.2 Carrera but passenger- and driver side exchangers are identical for respective car.

Main difference between exchangers is that 930 exchangers have thicker flanges towards heads with segments of pipe sticking into the exhaust ports. Also, Carrera has bigger Exhaust ports than 930. Other than that, routing of pipes is the same.

Part nr. for Carrera heat exchangers: 930 211 029 01
Part nr. for 930 heat exchangers: 930 211 033 01

So then I could use 1987 heat exchangers on my 1984 non-turbo 3.2, right?

Goran,
What beepbeep tried to imply is the exchangers on 930's are interchangeable, left to right and the exchangers on 3.2's are interchangeable, left to right. They are not, however, compatable between one another. 930 exhaust ports are smaller than the 3.2's and the flange thickness is differant. 3.2's would have shorter exhaust studs than the 930's.
Bottom line, can't use 'em.
