I am soooo down for doing mines this weekend, so two things can anyone gimme a good route to get the from oakland and would anyone else like to come along?


I know its short notice but I have been wanting to do it


Also i just got the car fixed and i need to take it out!

I may be up for that depending on my schedule, what time were you planning on?

From Oakland, I would get on 680 south and get off on 580 into Livermore. That will take you right into Livermore and from there you can get to Mines road easily..........

I'll make sure to keep bumping this throughout the week.

Im down for whatever time is good for you guys.... I'd say 10 because hopefully it will be nice and warm and we can get some good weather.

Just been on Mines Rd. with my motorcycle (aircooled boxer of course) and there is still plenty of loose gravel. Not too much fun with the bike - be careful.

i think i am in. what time? gravel is schitty. i stil have to look at the glass chips from last time.

I just did Mines rd on Feb 6th before the recent storms. I went all the way to Mount Hamilton - no other cars, just a few bikers, an excellent drive. I'd like to go this Saturday but my kid's basketball schedule is killin' me!

OK so heres a plan

I'm not exactly sure where to meet so gimme some ideas... I've never actually driven Mines so I'll leave the meeting place up to someone else

I say we kick this thing off at 930 though

However, beign a local, I figure that a good meeting point in the morning will be Panama Bay cafe on first street. There should be plenty of parking that early and it will beat waiting on the side of the road.

i thought the oklahoma thing was just for a week? i am sure you can find a perfect straight road over there on the open plains to have fun on rick! trying to get out of chainsaw duty. looking good, altho i will be doing lumberjack duty on friday instead.

with all due respect to george and his suggested meeting spot, i would hope we could meet at that school/park parking lot we met at last time. i think it is at murrieta and south livermore. big parking lot, located out of the glare of city lights, and no coffee shops to get bogged down in...
