What is this, and who wants it?

I have what appears to be an engine case, or cylinder head case of some sort. Can anyone tell me what this is?

It is new, never been used except as a show sample.

Markings: vario cam F1, 996 104 1074R on top and 996 104 139 1R on lower half.

Four valves per cylinder. I can send more pics to interested if you email me buoyant@pcarfanatic.com

Anyone?

Looks like a water cooled 996 head to me. But that's just a guess.

Yep..looks like a head..esp. w/ the "vario cam" id.

I'll take it...it's free+shipping right?

Well, maybe not free. But someone could do really good with this one. It would be nice to find someone who needs one, or may need one in the future.

What years does the 911 qualify as a 996 in this case?
