Check the the position on the C clamp that holds the rubber elbow to the throttle body. The butterfly lever can come in contact with the C clamp tightening screw if the C clamp has been rotated to that area.

I had the spring break on my 3.2 once and it kind of did what yours did. Made the pedal feel very soft. If the spring is broken though it wouldn't get better by itself.

Sonic, I had the same happen to me. The third time it happened I discovered the throttle cable to the cruise control
was hanging up. My cruise hasn't worked since I have owned the car so I cut the cable. It hasn't hung again and that was over year ago. |
I second what J.P. said above - exactly what happened to me right after a rebuild. Have someone work the pedal while you inspect the linkage and cables for movement in the rear.
Good luck, and be careful until you definately find the problem - |
I had my throttle stick a couple of times 5 years ago. Once when I floored the car leaving an airport parking lot toll booth. Very embarrasing besides dangerous. Turned out the linkage just needed some lubrication.
