Steve Weiner

I thought that I should post a little story about my recent dealings with Steve at Rennsport Systems. A while ago a client of mine posted here asking for help in locating some sway bar bushings for his Charlie Bars. I had zero luck in obtaining a set and was pretty frustrated. Within a short time of the original post Steve had posted and emailed me saying he could help us out. THe very next day, bushings were in the mail to me. I had not even paid yet! Well it turns out I did a poor job explaining which end of the car they were for and the wrong ones arrived. A quick email later, and the correct ones were on their way. I still had not sent any money. I will be sure send some cash on Monday!

Steve has always been able to spend countless hours answering my emails and talking with me on the phone about different engine options for my clients and my own motors. I have NEVER bought anything there yet!! He has demonstrated the best customer service I have seen in a long long time!

If you need machine work, engine building or any of the services that he offers, I would recommend him. I have no affiliation what so ever, but felt compelled to let other know how a fellow Pelican was able to help me out when I thought there was no end in sight.

Someday I hope to actually meet the man and shake his hand.

I finally had the opportunity to meet Steve in person at the German Autofest in Ventura this past year. Not only has he been instrumental in setting up my suspension but he also convinced my wife that I just had to have headers! What a guy!

I agree, Steve is a GREAT guy, and always with a logical answer to whatever problem one has.

Hats off to him!

He sent me front rotors for my 930 upgrade ($$$) with an invoice. It was weird getting them without paying for them first from I guy accross the country whom I've never met. Super Guy. (And yes, I did pay him;) )

Steve is one of the best guys in Porsche you are ever likely to meet. He is very generous with his time, is a wealth of information, and is always ready to assist.

I've known Steve for years "virtually" via many iterations of rennlist and he is truly one of the good guys.

I will jump on the bandwagon and say "Ditto!". Steve has been very helpful with advice and answers over the years without ever making a dime off me. When I win the lottery, I'm loading my '73 on the trailer and making the drive up to the PNW and have him turn my carb'ed 3.4 into the twin-plugged, EFI'd monster that God and Ferry Porsche intended it to be! YOU DA MAN, Steve!

Catca,

Make it down to Seattle for John Walker's Swapmeet this summer and your likely to meet him there....that's where I met him.

Steve Weiner is a superb and helpful guy. Steve, If you are reading these, chime in and take a bow.

I'm another Steve fan. He spent many e-mails discussing my suspension and then a few phone conversations before sending my torsion bars before I had a chance to send him a check. He's a man motivated by his passion for the sport and the marque and not the dollar bill.

LOL,........I'll be there for sure,....:)

Between the potential bargains to be found and the fine company in attendance, its not to be missed.

Gentlemen:

Thank you for the kind words and confidence,........I've just tried to be helpful and offer the benefit of my experiences.

Could NOT add any more. :)

Yes indeed, Steve is a great guy- he even got an honorable mention in Stephan Wilkinson's 'The Gold-Plated Porsche'.

Cheers!

Paul.

Steve:

Honest
Humble
Knowledgeable
Smart
Great doses of common sense

I got the "What is your mission?" from Steve. Stop and think...
What am I doing with my car....does this back up what I want to do --- with my car?

Dan in Pasadena 02-26-2005 07:00 PM

I don't even own a 911...yet. I'm a lurker and Steve offered valuable opinions on a car I was considering.

I consider the good guys here - which is most - to be sorta like "friends I've not yet met." Steve, Peter Zimmerman, Bill Gregory, Jack Olsen and a lot of others are like that here.

Maybe its sappy, but many of us would make good friends if we lived nearer each other. At least I like to think so.

Okay,when is John's swap meet?

After having done the FLASH on my 3.6 varioram DME I wanted more. Steve took great lengths and time to explain the suspension set up I would need to balance the output of this motor to its 1975 911S frame. He designed, sold me the parts, spec'd the compression/rebound for Bilsteins according to my particular car's needs, and advised the installation long distance from Oregon to here in the Hinterland. You don't have to be the poopala to get him to work with you-he's the real thing, without the froth. The car has been transformed and is breathtaking.
Steve, thanks Again.
Nick

I thank Steve for (figuratively) slapping me upside the head, effectively saying "For God's sake man.....get the 3.6!!! You won't regret it!"

(This in lieu of buidling a 3.2 or 3.4 with CIS.)

He's very good about posting it here several weeks in advance.
