Wideband Oxygen Sensor

Anyone using this? How does it compare to the Innovate LM-1?

roughly the same. wideband commander has nice analog gauge included and has programmable output.

KobaltBlau 02-27-2005 03:24 PM

doesn't the lm-1 also have programmable output? maybe I don't understand exactly what you're referring to.

Are any p-car guys using the dynojet wideband commander. It appears to be a more permanent install than the LM-1. Not to mention it comes with nice guage.

This product features dual wide band sensors. I always thought single sensors don't tell the whole A/F ratio story.

if it means anything, the guy that designed the lm-1 has posted on this board a few times (username klaus something?), and developed the product on a VW bus with a 911 motor in it. He seems like a very nice guy and offered some tips a while ago.

Sherwood,

That is the unit that intrigues me also. I'm looking to dyno-tune my EFI 930 but still monitor AFR to prevent any future problems that may develop. My Electromotive Tec-1 uses a narrowband O2 but this unit seems to be a direct replacement with wideband monitoring while still capable or interfacing as a narrowband with my Tec.

Anyone able to confirm this?

Thanks,
Jim

For the turbo folks, everything I read says that to get good sensor life, you want to mount them after the turbo (backpressure is the bigger factor that kill the sensor rather than heat).

And looking at the plumbing, not sure if there's enough room to install 2 sensors.

About the gauge - maybe I'm the minority, I'm not sure if I have enough time to stare at the gauge to monitor my A/F when I'm on full boost (on track :)). Ability to log a lot of data is more important for me.

I hear you! There's never time to look at the speedo, but I always find time to check the important stuff... oil press, temp, etc. It only takes a few lean seconds at full boost to destroy an engine. Don't ask me how I know... And I can't afford for it to happen again. I'll be joining the Yugo board....

Can you guys tell me what the proper torque value is for WB sensors in the header? Sorry this question is not really on topic.
