plumbing for my Wastegate on my CIS to EFI (2.7 turbo)
I wanted to check to see if I could plumb the wastegate from the airbox that I fabricated ,(after throttlebody). Or should I run the line from before the throttle body to my Manual boost controller?
I have heard people do it right before the trottlebody, but it would be real easy to do it in the airbox since I welded some bung's for fittings. Thanks Oscar |

Put wastegate controls ahead of the throttle plate, when it snaps shut you want to detect the pressure between it and the compressor.

When you say "ahead" do you mean between the throttlebody and the compressor?

As long as you are using blow-of valve (recirculating or open), it doesn't matter that much which point you pick up your boost signal from (after or before throttle).
If there is no blow-off valve, use signal after the throttle. No dump valve means that you can get some unhealthy pressure peaks when turbo tries to force air into closed throttle, which can damage wastegate membrane (as well as intercooler and turbo). Easiest and best way is to plumb it after intercooler but before throttle-plate and use blow-off valve (that's for some weird reason often omitted in el-cheapo conversions like this).

What do you mean "el-cheapo conversions like this"?
