What is "room temperture" ?

My '88 Carrera ( 88k miles ) has developed a "bucking" problem under acceleration. I checked the resistance of the head temp sensor and it came up with .65 ohms. In reading one of the Pelican tech articles it says that it should be between 1 and 2 ohms. My Bentley book states it should be 2.2 to 2.8 ohms at "room temperature". Its 35 degrees F here in Indy. I always assumed room temp was around 70 degrees. How am I suppose to check this sensor if its too cold out? Am I going about this the wrong way?

Thank for your time

Weaver

In several industries, room temperature is regarded as 23 - 25 degrees Celsius, which is 73.4 - 77.0 degrees Farenheit.

Which all of us will reach, probably, sooner or later, sometime. (According to Jocelyn Elders, former surgeon general.)

Weaver,

just take the sensor out and bring it into the house.. wait a bit for it to warm up, then test it...

Bucking .. things to check
sensors
afm ( http://frwilk.com/944dme/afm.htm )
vacuum leaks

My bucking prob turned out to be the wire loom running along the firewall. The thing was it would buck in 1st and 2nd only and NOT AT ALL in reverse. It turned out that the wireloom was pulled tight as I accelerated forward and so would buck forward, but it would not buck when accelerating backward cuz the wire loom would get slack as the engine rotated slightly forward..

I mention it because if all other 'normal' reasons don't pan out, start checking for 'weird' reasons.

Good luck
