SC bucking...

78 sc bucks while decelaration. also while warming up idle starts to surge up and down hunting.

Could I need a new warm up reg. or is my mixture out of whack?

could be a vaccuum problem...I am not sure, but I think in 1978 you could still check for some vacuum problemsby removing the oil cap. Ifc the RPM's fall a lot when you remove the cap then you are likely fine, but if there isn't much of a change you may have a leak somewhere. The WUR is expensive, I would rule out other things first. Try a search, I know there have been other discussions about this topic.

although, I am not sure I would do it, you can try a small spray of starting fluid around the intake...takle a good look at the rubbet boot on the CIS, sometimes they crack and suck too much air...unfortunately with these cars it could be a lot of things, but you should try to rule out the cheap $tuff fir$t.

Your WUR may be slightly out of spec, but it could also be simply that your mixture is just slightly too rich. Try leaning it in small increments (about 1/16 turn @ a time) and see if it improves. Don't go more than 1/4 in all and if it doesn't help, put the setting back to where it was and look elsewhere.
