Does anyone else have this on their Carrera?
After looking at a few Carrera engine bays, I can't say that I have seen this on any other engine tray.
It's a little shock mounted laterally at the rear of the engine and appears to be intended to isolate the engine's torque from the body of the car. The mounts all look like original equipment so I don't think it's an aftermarket design. It's a pretty simple design but works pretty well. If you blip the throttle while looking at the engine, you can see the entire engine torque slightly counterclockwise and the little shock absorb that movement (maybe 1/16 of an inch). I've just never seen it on another Porsche. Does anyone else have this system? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1109705525.jpg |
I think that mount is specific to cabs...

The device you are referring to only came on the cab.
