winch for steep driveway
as posted earlier I have a very steep driveway, breakdown this week hightens the need to install something to pull a 911 up the driveway if it can not run under power. Driveway is too steep to get a tow truck to back the car up.
Anyone installed an elec winch for such events? I plan to install one this summer, could use insight as to what did/not work. thanks as always...... |

I have used winchs for Jeeps, never what you are talking about...
But I would say you need at least #4000 . Also you need some bolt's at least 3'' in to the pavement most likely four eye bolt 3/8 thick to 1/2

I would think in this case a "ac" winch might be ez for you as they are cheaper and you probley have ac near by......I would make a concrete hole with trap door so all could be pretty well concealed when not in use. While mixing and pouring a couple bags of concrete you could put your studs in for the winch ...and be done,,(and run your pwr cord too so its under grd.)
