Dash Vent Instead Of Clock?
I had my clock recently removed from my 911E to have it repaired. So, I take my car out on the road and suddenly, for the first time, I have this powerful stream of fresh air blowing through the clock opening. And I'm thinking that if I don't replace my clock, but instead install a louvered vent into that hole, I'd have a great source of fresh air. (And I'd have a fixed early 911 clock on my desk as a paperweight.) Has anyone installed a louvered vent like this? And if so, where'd you get it? Thanks.

Smart Racing offers a pricey kit that takes air from the vent on the front hood and routes it to the clock hole. The short comings are no butterfly valve to turn off and control air volume. I think a couple of members have rigged something up for alot less.

I wonder if your hood is adjusted correctly. If air is getting in so will rain.

I used some dryer hose and a louvered dryer vent in the racecar.

I too would be concerned if a lot of air is getting there. Means that something isn't sealed properly. Collateral damage ( leaks...rust....fogging of remaining lenses, etc).
