Cobbled Exhaust system
I've been trying to figure out just what parts were cobbled together by my PO's shop on the exhaust.
Apparently the 3.2 stock exhaust was replaced at some point with a B&B header/muffler combo, including oil lines and muffler bracket. The oil lines remain, and I recently acquired that same B&B exhaust system. I was hoping to mount it up and see if I liked it, but the muffler bracket is not compatible. The shop had replaced the B&B with an OE 3.0 SC header/cat/muffler system, but instead of putting an OE bracket and clamps (and restoring the OE oil lines), they slapped it on with the below bracket which was supporting not the muffler, but the heater duct pipe that connects to the blower in the engine, then they strapped the muffler onto that with just one of the B&B muffler straps. Anybody know where this muffler bracket came from? ![]() Also, what mounts to the triangular bracket to the right of the muffler bracket? What is that plate for? It has two threaded holes in it.

Looks like the AC support bracket to the right of the muffler bracket.

So, the compressor actually sits atop that bracket, ok that makes sense.
Do the two threaded holes on the right edge serve any purpose? Was there something mounted there in the past?

There wasn't anything mounted to those two holes when I removed it from my 911.
