SC/Carrera exhaust compatibility

My PO had swapped out a B&B exhaust for the OE exhaust added to meet emissions (for the sale). It's not the original exhaust that shipped with my car. I saw a date stamp on the heat exhanger of 1/83.

Would that indicate that my exhaust is from an '83 SC? I have an '84 Carrera that was mfr'd later in '83.

Are the SC and Carrera exhausts interchangable? I thought they were different.

Is it possible my 3.2 is running on pipes made for a 3.0?

I thought the 3.0 exhaust had smaller header pipes, but I don't know if they'd still bolt up to a Carrera.

I have the B&B exhaust and was planning to sell it, but if my existing OE exhaust is not for a 3.2, would I be better off keeping the B&B?

We have an emisssions check every other year and I could swap the whole exhaust and oil lines, to meet it, but that's a big PITA.
