A C5 with a 6 speed is very racy and track worthy. They even look sort of OK. Not any worse than a 996? I really like the way the hard top C5 Z06s look. And they are cheap and easy to drive. I like anything that will corner.

I've driven two separate 99 C5 Hardtops on the track (one at Midohio and one at Beaverun) and I can say that they are awesome track cars out of the box. Tremendous bang for the buck. If judging a person by the color of his/her skin is wrong, why is it okay to judge a person buy the type of car he chooses to have? Can't we all just get along?

And tommy, why go all the way to florida to buy a T-type turbo when you could just drive to Ohio and buy my 6500 mile Grand National? ? :)

I'm buying my dad's 86 Vette from him this spring. It's quasar blue (96 Grand Sport color) and goes like hell. I'm buying it because it's cheap entertainment and if I wreck it oh well, it's not like it's a P-car!

HT would feel bad to start ripping apart a 6500 mile GN. Then again that goes for any car. Thats why I bought my P-car for 4K. Money left over for modifications and other toys.

This must be post 999...so, out with the truth!
When I was seventeen (does that sound familiar to any one?) I dreamt of one day owning a Corvette. Never did. Never sat in one. I wish I could once drive an older 'Vette, big engine, you know... I consider myself fortunate having driven 25000 km in a Porsche Carrera: whilst the "US" part of me wanted a 'Vette, I did in life attain the "Euro" dream of the Porsche. |
