Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
After two blissful years of using my 1987 Carrera 3.2 as my daily driver, I decided to utilize my new truck to commute and make runs to Home Depot and the market. The truck will allow me to take our dirtbikes out and it will help keep some of the miles off the Porsche. The non stop rain here in SoCal also prompted me to keep my beloved Carrera in the garage, now that I have the truck to drive.
Well, after driving that big ol Ford F150 around for three weeks, the appreciation I have for my Carrera is at an all time high. I guess I was becoming a little jaded. But, after taking the 911 on a few fun runs through the local canyons this weekend, I had a shift in Schema: 911's are frickin exotic, race bred, exciting, intoxicating, amazing, awe inspiring, symphonic, road hugging works of automitive art that we are very fortunate to be able to drive! Wheew... Mike Last edited by MOMO3.2; 03-07-2005 at 05:46 PM.. |

Mike,
I feel the same way after I take the 911 out for the first drive in the spring! Imagine having to keep the car stored all winter, it's very difficult, but every spring the excitement returns!!

I got excited taking mine to the pharmacy to pic up some scrips today.
I even used my 5 point harness. As sick as I've been the last week(!), this is the best I've felt in 7 days.
