We all know they are involved with aironautical R & D but what are the chances of getting a 911 to fly ??

Not good. If flight is acheived, stability will be compromised as the center of mass is behind the aerodynamic center. Also, note in the photograph, the extensions of the leading edge, (fiberglass 'bumpers') do not transition well onto the primary lift-generating surface. Chances of acheiving flight would be improved if they used a long-hood.

In my limited experience, the 911 doesn't seem to fly very well. Front engine cars seem to be more stable in the air and land better.
