Dansk Muffler workmanship bad, show me your tail pipe

I ordered a whole set of premuffler and Dansk sport exhaust from Pelican, after put everything in, the Dansk muffler artmanship or workmanship is look terible, the tail pipe stick out like cheap muffler I saw on little kids Honda Civic

The workmanship and fitting is so bad, I can not believe I paid over $1100.00 for this

I do not know Pelican offer refund or exchange, will call them Monday

I know lot of you have Dansk muffler, can you post a picture of your tail pipe

Thanks
TC

The USA Dansk rep is a member here - maybe he will comment...

TC,

Sorry to hear your not happy with Dansk, but I can see why looking at your picture.

I have the Dansk pre-muffler and sport muffler w/84mm single outlet on my '84 Carrera. My 84mm outlet pipe fits perfectly into the cutout in the lower valance. I love the look and sound of my setup.

Have you tried loosening the muffler straps and bolts on the pre-muffler and sport muffler to see if you can re-adjust the outlet pipe's position? If not, hopefully the Dansk rep will have some ideas.

Regards, Bruce

Are you sure you have it installed properly, with the lip of the seam on the muffler seated on the engine frame? Not to question you abilities, but it's either that or a poorly manufactured part.

I know that everyone thinks B&B are trash but I get a lot of compliments on the sound and I've had no problems with the system including the muffler.

If Pelican can't help, contact Danskman here on the board. He's a rep for the company.

My own experience w/ their quality has been less than stellar, you can do a search under my user name and "Dansk". I agree that it looks like it's installed wrong, though. I've never seen one that deformed/mis-manufactured, usually it is more like a problem w/ seam welds or sound.

The muffler mountin holes are slooted, I have tried to ot have work around / loosen the strap and still can not get it closer to the cut out,

I have bad luck with this muffler, frist shipment, they send the wrong muffler, and the sencond shipment the muffler does not fit well.

Your right, that is some bad fit. My Dansk fit is much better than that, but the outlet is way too long. I need to cut it off about 3 or 4 inches but I am afraid of doing irreversible damage. Call Pelican, I am sure they will do what it takes to fix the problem.

I've never seen a Dansk sport with a tailpipe that low. I agree, it looks like a bad installation. I think you need to loosen everything (the catalyst inlet bolts, catalyst-to-muffler bolts, muffler straps) then shift everything into place and tighten them up. I really doubt that it's that poorly manufactured.

question for Danskman

hello

Please tell me it this the way the tailpipe on the Dansk Sport muffler should look from the rear or bad workmanship.

I just oredered a set Dansk premuffler/sport muffler, and it's look not right after installed, the tailpipe is not close to the cut out and stick out too far

Thanks

Wow, your tailpipe look much better than the one I have, I send an email to Dansk and still waiting to his reply.

I contact Pelican, they are looking into the issue, now I am stuck

Thanks

The Dansk tailpipe on my car never fit that great. It was too long to the point I thought about cutting it. It needed something to look better. I ended up selling it.

My Dansk fits perfectly, but I have a different rear end... I agree with all of the above. There is quite a bit of wiggle room in the premuff attachment alone. It really can be hard to get these right if you are doing it solo and trying to do it on the ground... I doubt the muffler is that incorrect. Maybe, but I doubt it...

Mine's always been a little lopsided - but nothing like that... It helped when I aligned the muffler then attached it to the premuffler...

I bought one off a pelican, and the tailpipe seems to be made to be adjusted then welded into place. It's still going to be awhile before I get mine on....
