OK, I'll ask - why is the black CA plate worth money?

Chris, it's kind of a nostalgia thing, showing an unbroken string of CA registration, I believe. Has really no additional value outside of CA.

I think it's more the Vasek Polak plate frame that's worth money.
Great car.

One look at Paul's car and you wonder why sand beige is an unpopular color...when I saw it, the car must have been magnetized..I was drawn right to it...

Here's some more of the '67S. The license plate frame is worth as much as the plate, maybe more.

Yup, frame - like I said originally.
Some interesting tidbits: He was friends with Vasek His original 67S was stolen right out of the dealer workshop when new!

I think that the CA. black plate, (ended in 1970), + the VP frame are cool together. Evokes a different time in CA. and the car world, makes people nostalgic for the "good old days". (That weren't so good for everyone, but that's another story).
![]() Both of these items, (plate and frame), are commonly available. The car? That's another story. Every one that ever comes up for sale will be out-bid by a foreign buyer from now on, thanks to the wonderful management of our economy. ![]() Years from now, the "good old days" will be back when the dollar had value in the world. ![]()

Wow! Gorgeous. There is something about a 67 911S especially one in this condition. It could be the one car that I would sell my Speedster to buy!!

Randy, Excellent pictures, as always!
![]() The plate isn't really worth anything by itself, (dime a dozen at swap meets), The frames? Maybe people somewhere are charging for these, but you could get 10 for free until they went out of business recently. There are thousands of them out there somewhere, they had more than one dealer that used that plate. (BMW, all of the Audis sold, etc..). Not trying to be a party pooper, I'd just hate to see someone up in WA. or somewhere pay big $$ for a frame that any "entrepeneur" can steal off an old BMW in the supermarket lot down here. ![]()

That car gives me shivers. I can't even imagine what it would fetch if the guy decided to sell. It would be a prime candidate for Barrett-Jackson.
