"002" Distributor for what engine?

Anyone know what engine the "002 Bosch" distributor belongs to?

Thanks,

Mike

Porsche Crest

You will have to be more specific ... and give the complete Bosch part number, such as 0.231.169.002, since there are several Bosch 'families' of distributors for 911 applications!

Does it have the "Yellow" nomenclature plate on the side of it? If it does, it is from an early "S" car.

It does have the yellow id tag. My guess is that it was a "S" dizzy, just trying to find out what year. Looks like '67 ish to me.

It is from a 1967 911S.

That is what I have in my car. From what I have been told, it is very sought after for racing. Has a better advance curve.

Yup, that is the same dizzy as my 67S. Was able to check mine at the garage. I traded a decklid for that dizzy. This one has the points in it. I run an optical trigger in mine with a Crane XR700 box. I will keep the stock unit as a spare.
