Help with G50 Hydraulic Lines - 930 G50 Conversion
I am doing a G50 conversion in my 930 and am having a bit of trouble figuring out how to run the hydraulic lines from the MC back to the slave. Does anyone have a picture or diagram of the lines from the MC back? I am particularly interested in how the line from the MC is run and mates to the hard line in the tunnel. I also need to know where the hard line exits the tunnel in the rear. Thanks.

I ran a steel line in the tunnel and connected it on both ends with SS braided teflon hose. It is a tight fit and you have to be creative.

I actually have all 3 OEM lines. My problem is how to run them. The line in the tunnel appears to fit in only one way, but mating it to the line coming off the master cylinder (also a hard line) is a challenge. The line from the tunnel line to the slave cylinder is the only one that looks easy as it is half soft line. At the moment I have the hard line from the MC going into the tunnel through the top access hole at the very front of the tunnel. I was able to get it to mate to the tunnel line at that point. I think I will run the tunnel line out through the hole where the electronic speed wires go, there should be enough room for the wiring and the hydraulic line.
I was just curious how these lines were run in the 87-89 cars as this is an 86 and should be basically the same. My guess is though that they did something to the sheet metal by the pedal housing at the front of the tranny tunnel to let the MC hard line run in without have to go through the access hole.

it takes some finesse and a little dirty talk to get those lines in the tunnel. but be patient and you might get lucky. the shifter assembly needed some cutting in the center tunnel to get it in right. good luck. |

Thanks alfizzo - I was able to solve (at least for the moment) the hydraulic line and shifter box mounting problems
but now have isses with the transmission cross bar mount and the shift rod coupler. When the shift rod is attached to the shifter and pushed all the way back the rod and couple junction is right at the front of the rear tunnel access panel and the coupler is too big to slide inside the tunnel -
