Fan Ideas

Hey guys,

So thanks to all your helpful advice, I am now getting ready to remove my fan and housing for refinishing.

I also have SCAT hose on order to replace all of my heating hose, and think I am going to put some serious shine or paint on the the valve covers.

I'm thinking between these three upgrade and a little elbow grease I should have a pretty respectable engine compartment come spring.

My question is, as a mater of opinion, what would you do with this fan? I think I am leaning more towards powder coat rather than polish just so it will last longer, but I could be talked out of it. Colors? I'll have red SCAT hose.

I'd love to see photos of what you have done.

Thanks!

~Max

ditto on powder coat.

i am experimenting with the VHT aluminum high heat paint. they say it has ceramic in it and you bake it in your oven at 250 degrees once then again at 350 if i remember. it looks great and is less money than powder coat. i have a powder coated fan and sheet metal on my race car and i love it. but after a while with the VHT paint ill post some results. ive done a small gas and oil test on it and it seems to be good so far. but only time will tell.

P.S. dont bake your cookies at the same time

cheers ed

a pic of my powder coated pieces not as clean as above but over 5 years old now.

I saw another Pelican's fan and liked the electroless nickel plate.
The alt/fan mount is powder coated.
