Value of this Cab.

It doesn't look like the Turbo Cab I have been looking at is going to work out so here is another option. I have included 3 pics. The car is an original M491 car that was converted to a slantnose using steel fenders. The car has 38K on it. I need some honest values. How much does the slantnose hurt the value? How about the color what do you guys think?

There was a M491 original with 53K miles in my area selling for $26k...some people like the slant look some don't but it does take away from the vaule, I would say $24k-$27k

year? records? Does it include the original fuchs? Condition of cab seals? Electric or manual top? What size spacers are they running with those wheels?

Huck 03-10-2005 11:06 AM

No original fuchs. It is an 87 with G50 trans. Supposedly the car is nicer than the pics show. I've heard that before too. He wants $30K for it. All books and records from day 1. Car comes with original steering wheel as well no big deal but nice to have. He is calling me back with options, tire size, and spacers etc. He says it has a few records which confirm mileage but not too many as it doesn't have many miles. I will do a PPI etc. Is $30K way too high? Seems that regular 911 cabs with low miles bring close to this or at least the owners ask close to this.

911rules which car are you talking about and where are you located. I have called about or looked at most in the last 9 months that is all but red ones or whilte ones.

It looks clean from here, but It doesn't seem right without the right rockers and side vent things.

JeremyD 03-10-2005 11:18 AM

1987 is THE BEST YEAR! haha... I think high 20's would be appropriate. If it was a real slant then probably mid 30's - but it's not... In the day, the slant nose was the bomb - but more people are interested in the traditional 911 look. 3.2 should have much lower maintenance.

That being said == just remember that when you go to sell it - that you may be met with the same fickle attitude... G-50 fork update? If not negotiate down some more...

JeremyD 03-10-2005 11:19 AM

Where is it? Looks like my neck of the woods

Huck 03-10-2005 12:00 PM

It is in Sarasota. I probably can get him under $30K but he won't take $27,500.

not to (45 minutes or so) far - let me know if you want me to take a look at it for you... Have you seen it, driven it? or just pictures. Where does he take it for service?

trader220 03-10-2005 01:48 PM

I noticed this car on EBay too, I think its a looker !

Huck 03-10-2005 02:41 PM

Jeremy964,

Not sure about where it was serviced. I have not driven the car or seen it. I have just received pictures. He is going to get me more info. tomorrow. If you could look at it without too much trouble that would be great. He is in Sarasota. I will get the option codes tomorrow and service records and we will go from there. Does anybody know what kind of wheels those are?

Why not buy Jeremy's cab? its really sweet

Huck 03-10-2005 02:59 PM

His does look nice but I have to have a widebody.

Huck

CarreraS2 03-10-2005 05:49 PM

Is that the original color?

Huck 03-10-2005 06:11 PM

According to the owner that is original. The only paintwork has been the fenders and what ever else was associated with the slantnose.

Off the market...

As my sig said - came to my senses... I want a wide body too - but one I can sling around the track... I'll just have to add it to the fleet...
