I have a question, or two...

Did you paint the headers with high temp paint or regular paint? I assume that regular paint will just flake off after being heated to those high engine temps a couple of times. And secondly: Is there any other reason besides looks as to why you would want to paint the headers?

What else do you have planned?

It is high temp paint, the headers came black, but the paint was junk so I stripped them and repainted with that paint to help protect them. I do not drive the car unless it is clear and warm so I don't have a lot of weather touching them...it should work. I was going to pain them black like they came, but when I was picking out the paint I went with red...matches the car...

To answer your other question...as I stated, I originally removed the engine to replace the clutch that was slipping and shuttering. I have also...

New Bursch muffler
All new exhaust gaskets
Air box sensor plate housing gasket
Thermo time switch replacement
Oil pressure sending unit replacement
Headers (from eBay, good price!)
New oil lines to back date exhaust to a '74 muffler
Pertronix Ignitor
Intake manifold gaskets
Lower valve cover gaskets
Upper valve cover gaskets
Valve adjustment
New brake pads
Oil hoses
O-rings for the oil cooler
New steering wheel
Crank shaft to flywheel seal
New ignition high performance ignition wires

Nothing to crazy, but a lot of little things that will hopefully make the car run better and not leak anymore....
