test pipe co2 censor
Hello everyone my first post 86 911 cab. replacing oil cooler seals
contemplating installing test pipe do I eliminate co2 sensor? ihave muffler off to remove ac bracket and paint tins having a blast doing all this my self as Idid 15 years ago great forum many thanks to pelican |
I think you're talking about the oxygen sensor that screws into the cat by-pass pipe. You do not eliminate it, you screw the one from the cat into it. If you eliminate it, you will have idle and running problems because your injector system will not know what the fuel/air mixture is.

Welcome to the board. First things first you got to post pictures of your car for all to see:)
I just put a test pipe on my 82SC. I put the O2 sensor back just to plug the hole. I went Lowes and got a brass plug and went to put it on and found out the plug wasn't tapered. (Doh)I tossed the plug in the trash and put the O2 sensor on. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1110740156.jpg |

Welcome fellow Richmonder! You'll find this board more valuable than a full set of factory manuals. There are several people here from the Richmond area. Are you in PCA? We're building up quite a group here in Central VA.
Shoot me a PM if you want more info on the local goings-on! |
Tony G....have to disagree with ya...when i installed my pre muffler i decided t o try it without my sensor...what a difference!!! The car has never run better ...all idle issues are gone and response seems much better. my 2 cents

Steve,
I see you have an SC. There in lies the difference to a 3.2 with the Motronic management system. O2 sensor is absolutely necessary unless you are converting to carbs. |
The good news for you is that you are surrounded by a bunch of NOVA guys that will drop your engine, whether it needs it or not.
Good luck with all your projects - |
My mstake Tony! Sorry
