"pop off valve" popped out - JB Weld OK?
What a nice loud bang ! Thanks to this site, I know that something blew in the airbox, the popoff valve installed by a PO had blown out completely. I have some 4 minute two part JB weld, I will let it sit overnight this should hold it fine right?
Thanks, Dan |
It will work, just make sure you get fresh JB. Old stuff seems to dry long.

Be sure to really clean any oil residue off both the valve and the air box.
The plastic the valve is made of doesn't adhere real well to glue. It is helpfull to scuff it with sandpaper. Roughen the surface to give it some "tooth". |
epoxy

mine came off last year and i bought some epoxy mix at pep boys....i sanded off the old glue then used rubbing alcohol to clean the surface and let it dry. put it on and have had zero problems... gary |
Make sure the hinge of the pop off valve faces the rear of the car, not the front of the car.
