2.7 Fuel lines
Hi, a friend of mine has a '75 2.7 Carrera. Last saturday his car got a little fire in the engine compartment. We guess the ignition source was between the rear seats and the injection head. Anyway, the damage is not very big but we'd like to know if the metallic fuel lines of the SC model are suitable for a the 2.7 CIS. Furthermore, do you know if there is any other possible ignition sources in that place?
After the fire, we were cleaning the car when the starter began to work with the ignition key out of the car. Do you have any idea of what could procuce that?. Well, thank you very much in advance. Fernando. Last edited by Fperotti; 03-13-2005 at 08:42 PM.. |

Look for metalics that got loose from the fire and fell down on the starter. I would unhook the battery before proceeding. 12 volts won't hurt you, unless it comes in a big starter wire...
