Source for MFI pump gaskets?
 

Anyone know where I can get new gaskets for the side covers and the bottom cover plate O ring?

I could make my own, but I'd prefer the right material and shape if they are reasonably priced and avalable.

I'm chasing and sealing leaks so that when I park the car after a spirited drive people will stop worrying that my car is on fire... and so I can pull into the garage, close the door and not have the smoke alarm go off. (It's nice to know the alarm works)

I've ordered several of the oil hoses and expect a delivery today from Pelican.
I did do a search for these #s on the Pelican parts web but came up empty. I also have an email into Henry at Supertec, but I think he is in the middle of moving.
Any other ideas?

Try Gus Pfister at Pacific Fuel Injection. He is in South San Francisco, CA.
He has - don't know that he sells parts, to be honest with you...

Henry may be accepting new work this month, as it seems things might be settling down a bit at his new shop. My pump and a few other items will be on their way to him this week if I can get back into town and swing by the office to ship - I'm looking forward to getting a fresh, dry pump back! My pump sounds a lot like yours. Checked the seals a month or two ago and it is amazing they're sealing as well as they are - dry, cracked, and shrunken.

Re: MFI gaskets. Have you asked Pelican? If you haven't, this type of question can be a bit rude to our host.

I think people should mention that they have asked the sales dept at Pelican first before posting a source question unless it's obvious that the item is not one that would fall under Pelican's catalogue.

When I do an order status check, there are 18 previous orders that show up dated back to 12-02.

Your point about calling them directly is well taken.

I think those are Bosch part #s.

You are correct John, I found them in an earlier post on MFI.

I'm glad I dug into this project!! when I pulled out my tank I'd bet I also got rid of at least 5 lbs. of dirt and sand that have accumulated on top of the hoses and tank over the last 33 years.

I also found some surface rust started in several places on the tank, as rare as these are I'm going to wire brush, degrease and POR15 the whole outside. These projects always seem to grow...

Skip, if you don't have any luck you can make your own gasket. Your local autoparts store should carry gasket material in sheet form. Simply trace original on new gasket and trim. The o-ring you can track down as well at the same place. Measure the dia and the length.
