what options are there for sequential gearboxes? aka paddle shifter..

i have heard talk of using a 993 gearbox adapted to do this with the paddle shifters, but what else is out there? im looking for a somewhat cheaper option, compared to, oh lets say a hollinger or quaife unit. i know ruf made a sequential gearbox a while back, but info is limited on those as well.

are there any options for the g50 to have some conversion done to it? it would be cool to have paddle shifters, and instant shifts. i guess the e46 m3 is rubbing off on me. lol...soon very soon..

whats out there?

The only 993 Porsche transmission with sequential shifting was developed by Holinger. It is not a cheap option, and this early version is hard to obtain these days. The Quaife unit is a 200 pound slug that has been adapted to Porsches by a few, but not with great success.

Some have experimented with "sequential" adapter shifters, but these tend to rush the shift beyond what the standard synchronized transmission can handle. Those installed on converted dog box transmissions still could not deliver true sequential performance because they were not rapid enough.
