I have a Bosch & a Perma-Tune

My car came with a Perma-Tune CD Unit, but I happened upon a rebuilt Bosch unit...which is better?

Bosch

I've been caught in the middle of the Everglades at night because of Prematunes. When they get hot they quit. Just a seat of the pants comparision but the Bosch makes way more power.

Install the Bosch and keep the Permatune in the car as a spare just in case.

Install the Bosch and keep the PermaJunk in...wait someone else already said this. But...the blue PermaJunk is supposed to be a better unit than the silver (newer) ones. But still, OEM Bosch, MSD, PermaJunk, IMHO.

It's great that you have a "spare". That could come in very handy!

I've had great success with my MSD unit. The unit delivers three sparks vs. one under 3000 RPM and that in turn has drastically improved my cold starts, smoothed out the idle, and increased low RPM power. Also the soft rev limiter is great safety net. I would recommend also switching to an optical ignition as well when installing your MSD.

Once you see the size spark the unit delivers vs. others you should be sold.
