Question Question for body work guys

I have the normal rust in the rocker panel on my coupe, and have purchased the kit from RD for inner, outer and jack point.

I have a question

1. Currently the car's on jack stands under the front suspention points and the rear tortion bars. Is this O.K. or will i get body flex and hence missalignment, when i start cutting?

i"ve surched the archives, and can't find any mention regarding this, but i thought the car gains most of its strength from this triple layer section.

Yes, you must definitely have the car supported on it's suspension, not on the body. This came to me by way of the following from a thread on door gaps:

"And yes I have made my mistakes, I remember the first set of rockers I put on a targa 20+ years ago, I left the jackstands on the torsion tube, when it was all done and back on the suspension, the door just did not close right boss:what happened? me: i dunno I learned, cut em off and did it again, never made that type of mistake again." I supported mine at a about 8 points. To me, it doesn't matter where they are as long as some are under the motor and rear bodywork. Getting the tub level and unstressed by the weight of the motor, trans, etc. is the key.

Don't forget that welding can cause distortion of its own. Take it slow, let things cool off between welds and jump back and forth. Don't do a bunch of welding in one place all at once.
