The Peterson Museum is not downtown, though. It is in the Miracle Mile district, (near the LACMA museum and LaBrea tar pits), many miles to the west on Wilshire.

The Bob's Big Boy thing is fun if you like muscle cars and street rods, but not really a Porsche deal. When you get here, start a thread and we can have a gathering with you if you'd like, those are always fun! Have a safe trip!

Hmmm 1.5 hours south could leave you in LA or Mexico depending on traffic.

This is true...

Hmmm, 1.5 hours south on the 5 fwy...

If you golf - Torrey Pines

If you like the beach - Torrey Pines state beach

If you like seafood - Fish Market Del Mar (few miles from Torrey Pines)

Spend a few hrs touring on Palos Verdes Dr. It's on the ocean edge of the peninsular. You'll be up high and have a panoramic view of a nice surfing beach. You'll also pass 3or4 nice coves that have close parking and walk ways to the bottom. If you see other cars at these coves the drivers will probably be fishing, scuba, or free diving this time of year.

great place to hold hands if you don't want to hunt.. it'll give her something to talk&brag about later. Bring a camera and don't worry about the ocean fog.

They are having an AX in the infield, a TT on the big track.
Club racing with PCA and POC run groups.
You can purchase lunch time track laps too.

If you are not ready for a PCA TT you might be able to run with the Alfa club at the same location.
The Alfa club is holding a TT in one of the large outside parking lots on the same weekend.

I think I know someone with a BAE turbocharged 911SC who lives about 10 miles north of John Wayne Airport

The festival of speed is something experience. It has been different every year so far but every year it has been worth going to.

From Watching Jack bust the mirror off of BBII to watching Donahue racing the Daytona prototypes (before Pontiac bought ALMS) to running tripple digits on the banks, plenty to see and plenty O'fun.

wild guess is that you may be into scuba or free diving?
M&B Wetsuits in Long Beach is the best custom builder in the whole US imo.

Manhattan Beach is the one to visit. Rent bikes.

Marina Del Rey canals is full of nice sailboats and has a high end shopping center + 2 story mall east of Lincoln, not the one west of Lincoln Blvd. She'll love it.

There is also a 356/912 get together. Continuing with their_"Flat out in
Flat Fours" theme, they are inviting all enthusiasts to join in any car.
They are meeting at Coco's for breakfast around 7:00 a.m. It is on the
South East corner of the 5 Fwy & Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo,
CA. (949) 582-1463. Many will run with the 356/912 clubs down through the avocado ranches ending up at
Hennessey's in Dana Point for Lunch around 12:00 noon. Others are splitting and heading to the Speed Festival in Fontana?
Mission Viejo and Dana Point are about an hour to hour and a half south of LA.
