Black undercoat
I washed the underside of my 911 this weekend. An amazing amount of dirt and small rocks came out. But washing also removed some the black coating in the wheel wells. (The textured body colored undercoat is still present.)
What is this black stuff? Waxoil? Cosmoline and dirt?

It's a protectant. Wurths makes a great underbody sealer in a spray can or you can get some from an auto parts store - the Wurths is alot better though.
