Crank Case Breather won't budge - Suggestions?
Whilst tearing things apart, I took the 4 nylock nuts off the breather cap to replace the gasket. The nuts are off, but the cap won't budge. It's a large cause of my oil leaks, so I need to change it.
The nuts and the hose are off. Any suggestions? Also, the end of the hose that connects to the breather is soaked in oil. Even on the outside. Thoughts on why? Jim

Nope, sounds like you're not missing anything... Tap upward-ish on the tube part. Not too hard, but it should budge.

Copper, when you put it back together make sure you linish the breather flat (600 wet and dry) and use something like hylomar or curil t on the gasket. I had a hell of a time with mine before I got it sorted

Thanks John
Saw the bit about gasket sealer in Wayne's book. When I put it back together, I'll do that. Looks like it's put a lot of oil under the shround and on top of the engine case (currently have fan housing out). This is the cause of a lot of my leakage it appears.
